A 33-year-old man has been arrested by police following a serious assault on a 31-year-old man in Derry’s Waterside area last night.
Police sealed off a pub in Duke Street to carry out a detailed forensic examination of the scene following the incident which occurred at around 9.30pm.
The 31-year-old victim was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.
A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact police at Strand Road on the non emergency 101 telephone number 101.
