Two men have been arrested following a hijacking in the Waterside area of Derry last night in which an elderly man was injured.
According to a PSNI spokesperson, the man was assaulted by two men who approached him while he was driving in the Bonds Hill area at around 8.30pm.
The man was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Two men, aged 21 and 24, were arrested on the suspicion of hijacking, causing grievious bodily harm with intent and other offences.
They are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
