Trent Kone-Doherty signed professional terms with Liverpool FC in October 2023

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has added ex-Derry City winger Trent Kone-Doherty to his 21-man squad travelling to the Nertherlands this evening to face PSV Eindhoven in their final game in the Champions League.

Kone-Doherty signed his first professional contract with Liverpool FC in October 2023.

The 18-year-old joined the Reds from his hometown club Derry City in July 2022.

A winger blessed with skill and pace, he enjoyed a fine first season on Merseyside with the U18s, scoring 11 goals – including three in the UEFA Youth League – before injury brought an early end to his campaign.

Kone-Doherty will be hoping to make his first senior appearance this evening with The Reds with the likes of Mo Salah being rested for the game.

Liverpool have already booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with seven wins from seven matches.

Other players not travelling to the Netherlands include keeper Allison, Virgil van Dyke and Trent Alexander Arnold.
