The young man who was killed in a crash near Raphoe, Co Donegal, yesterday morning has been named.

Kacper Dudek died when a tree fell on his car while he was travelling on the N14 at Feddyglass.

The 20-year-old, a Polish native, was raised in Lifford.

It’s understood that he was travelling home from work when the accident occurred early yesterday morning, hours before a status red wind warning was to come into effect for Storm Eowyn.

His body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place in due course.

A technical examination of the scene will take place today, and the N14 will remain closed with local diversions in place.
