Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after two men were injured in a violent incident at a house on the Coneyburrow Road in Lifford.

One man was seriously injured and another man suffered less-serious injuries during the assault at a house at around 10 am this morning.

One man (aged in his 20s) was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, for treatment of serious injuries.

The second man (aged in his 60s) was brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of less-serious injuries.

The house in question has been cordoned off by Gardaí.

Eye-witnesses confirmed that a number of emergency services including ambulance personnel and Gardai attended the scene.

There are no reports of any arrests in connection with the incident.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

“Any persons who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from Coneyburrow Road, Lifford, between 10am and 11am, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí,” a spokesperson said.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
