New Year and new bundles of joy arrive for proud parents

A New Year has dawned in the North of Ireland and as the seconds ticked into 2025 little bundles of joy started to arrive in hospital maternity wards.

Staff members and proud mum and dad Lisa and Warren Hamilton (pictured above) from Tempo with their new born baby boy and son Arlo.

Baby Hamilton was the first baby born on New Year’s Day in the Western Trust.

He was born at the South West Acute Hospital at 4.01am weighing in at a bouncing 8lbs 10z.

Baby boy McArdle with mum Bronagh and dad Christopher from Fivemiletown born at SWAH on New Year’s Day at 2.41 pm weighing 7lbs 13oz.

Not all the babies made it to 2024, some were born on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024.

Midwife Jenni with baby daughter of Leanne from Newtownstewart born on New Year’s Eve at 11:49 weighing 6lb 6oz.

Baby Tommy with dad Gordon and son of Jade from Castlederg born on News Year’s Eve at Altnagelvin Hospital at 10:07am weighing 8lb and 6oz.

Baby Girl Aria daughter of Andrea from Culmore born at Altnagelvin Hospital on New Year’s Eve at 3.42 weighing 8lb 14oz.

Baby Joseph pictured with Mum Caroline from Dungiven born at Altnagelvin Hospital on New Year’s Eve at 12.55 pm weighing 9lb 14oz.
