Friends tragically killed in Donegal crash to be laid to rest this week

The two men who lost their lives in last weekend’s tragic road collision in Co Donegal are to be laid to rest later this week.

Friends Ryan Glenn, aged 25, and Gordy Galbraith who was in his 30s, were killed instantly when their car collided with another vehicle in the village of Liscooley on Friday night last at 10pm.

Both men were from just across the border in the village of Castlederg, in Co Tyrone.

An elderly couple in their 70s who were in the other car are still in a serious condition at Letterkenny University Hospital.

A Garda investigation into the cause of the tragedy is still ongoing.

Ryan was the beloved father of Logan, the much loved son of Caroline and Trevor, loving brother of Chloe, cherished grandson of Marian and Eugene (Mc Ivor) and Eileen and the late Percy (Glenn).

His remains will repose at Lynch’s Funeral Home, Castlefin Road, Castlederg on Wednesday and Thursday next from 4pm until 8pm.

A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Ryan will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Friday next at 1pm with internment afterwards in Castlederg Cemetery.

Gordy was the much loved father of Alex and Ethan, beloved son of Andy and the late Kathleen (Kate), loving brother of Samantha, Jacqueline, Andrena, Sabrina, Robert and Leanne.

His remains will repose at the family home at Hospital Road, Castlederg on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 noon until 10pm.

A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Gordy will be held at the family home on Thursday at 1pm with interment afterwards in Castlederg Cemetery.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing sons, Jackie, Jenny, dad, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews good friends and entire family circle.

The men’s deaths brings to 17 the number of people killed on Co Donegal’s roads so far this year compared to ten for all of last year.

On Tuesday morning, Gardai confirmed that a man in his 70s injured the crash had sadly died in hospital.
