Job Title: Teamleader CNC Machining (Milling & Turning)

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CNC Machine Shop Team Leader to oversee daily operations within our CNC machining department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of CNC operators, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, safety, and continuous improvement in all machining processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of CNC operators and machinists.
- Assign tasks and manage workloads to meet production schedules and goals.
- Provide ongoing training, support, and development to team members.
Production Management:
- Oversee daily operations of CNC machines, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
- Monitor production timelines and output, ensuring all work is completed on time and within specifications.
- Liaise with tooling suppliers to establish optimum tooling requirements and efficient use of tooling
- Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues that arise, coordinating with maintenance teams when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance, production data, and team performance.
- Report daily production results and issues to management, recommending solutions when necessary.
- Ensure proper documentation and storage of all CNC programs and machine settings.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all parts and components meet stringent quality standards and tolerances.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and final products in line with ISO 9001.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to address any quality concerns.
Process Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize machine utilisation in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Evaluate and suggest upgrades to CNC equipment, tools, and technology as needed.
Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a CNC machining environment, supervisory experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, and machining processes.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
- Be proficient in Solid Works and AutoCad
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in CNC programming (G-code, M-code) and CAD/CAM software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Certifications:
- Technical certification in CNC machining or manufacturing preferred.
- Additional leadership or safety training/certification is a plus.
