Vintage Show to ‘thresh’ out thousands of euros for Donegal Hospice!

The Seven Gables Vintage Show will hold a traditional corn threshing demonstration in aid of Donegal Hospice on the Donegal-Derry border this weekend.

The event was cancelled last weekend due to the torrential rain.

However, the forecast is looking good for the next few days and the organisers have confirmed it will go ahead this Saturday at Raymond McDaid’s farm, Legnaduff, Killea.

Last year’s event raised a mammoth €16,795 for the Hospice.

The show and demonstration kicks off at 11am next to the original showfield (BT489XP).

You can also view the beautiful waterwheel (below) in operation on McDaid’s farm, and enjoy light refreshments and entertainment in aid of a very worthy cause.

“Come along and have a chat about days gone by and enjoy a great day’s craic,” a spokesperson for the organisers said.

“All proceeds will go to the Donegal Hospice so, this year again, we want to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful service that is being provided to our community.”

For further information, call Raymond on 0879187571 (ROI), Robin on 078 5004 7457 (NI) or go to the Seven Gables Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089241176161
