Three people have been hospitalised following a second horrific crash in Co Donegal.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle collision at Inver in the south of the county.

The collision occurred shortly before 9 am this morning between Inver Bridge and the Ardaghey turn-off.

Three people have been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment.

Their condition is not yet known.

The road remains closed at this time with local diversions in place.

The crash follows a fatal road crash just hours earlier in Inishowen.

A young man in his teens died after the car in which he was a passenger crashed at Quigley’s Point at 11.15 pm on Saturday evening.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast with serious injuries.
