A man was arrested Derry on Tuesday after police recovered including a number of offensive weapons from a car he was driving, including an axe.
Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Officers from Tactical Support Group carried out a routine traffic stop in the city on Tuesday night.
“Upon speaking with the driver it soon became apparent that the illegally tinted windows were the least of their worries.
“From inside the vehicle officers seized 4 telescopic batons and an axe.
“The driver was arrested for possession of offensive weapons and taken into custody.
“The driver was later released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.”
