POLICE in Derry are appealing for information after two pedestrians almost got hit by a reckless driver while they were pushing a pram on a pedestrian crossing.

Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Were you in the area of John Street today (19/06/2024) around 12.25pm?

“Police received a report of a black Ford Focus driving through a Red light at the Pedestrian Crossing nearest the Carlisle Road Roundabout.

“Two pedestrians who were pushing a pram with a 4 month old baby in it had to take evasive action to prevent being stuck by this vehicle.

“Police investigations are underway, however initial enquiries suggest CCTV has not caught the incident.

“This is where we need your help to identify the vehicle.

“Do you have Dash Cam or did you witness the incident? If you did, your piece of the jigsaw could assist Police to identify the driver.

“If however you are the driver, then please make yourself known to Police as it is very likely we will be knocking your door soon.

“Please call 101 quoting 1447 of 19/06/2024, or you can report anonymously on 0800 555111 or online on https://orlo.uk/74Y8d”
