A number of investigations are underway into a reported fish kill in Donegal.

The pollution incident was discovered by a member of the public in a stream near Bridgend on Tuesday evening.

It is believed at least 20 dead fish were seen in ‘white milky’ water.

The stream is a tributary of a local river which runs into the important Inch Lake.

Officials from Donegal County Council were on site and are due back at the location along with a team from Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI).

The latest incident comes just over a week after a ‘substantial’ fish kill in a tributary of the River Finn, between Killygordon and Stranorlar.

That incident is being investigated by the Loughs Agency.
