PBP: Kick out the Tories on July 4

People Before Profit Councillor Shaun Harkin

People Before Profit in Derry have welcomed the news that a British General Election is to take place on July 4th.

Cllr Shaun Harkin said: “It is time to’ ‘kick out the Tories:’

“This despicable Tory Government have hung around like a bad smell.

“They have launched a relentless assault on working class people.

“It is an absolute fact that after 14 years of Tory misrule ordinary people are much worse off.

“Meanwhile the billionaires have seen their coffers swell and their taxes shrink, while the Tories promote division and scapegoating.

“There must be an alternative.

“However, People Before Profit do not see the Labour Party as that alternative. Starmer has broken every promise and pledge he has made. He’s enabled the Gaza genocide as much as Sunak.

“All through this Tory nightmare the main Nationalist and Unionist parties in Stormont have implemented Tory attacks.

“Instead of opposing the Tory project of privatisation of everything for profit they have greenlighted it through the Assembly.

“People Before Profit in Derry will be meeting in the next few days to plan our intervention in this election.”
