With just a few weeks to go until one of the biggest music celebrations in the country, the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival Guinness Jazz Trail is now live.

The Guinness Jazz Trail is the go-to guide to all that’s happening throughout the five-day music spectacular, which this year features an impressive 450 musical performances taking place across 72 venues, running from Thursday, May 2 – Monday, May 6.

Most of the performances are completely free making first class live music accessible to everyone.

The entire line up is now live online with paper copies to be distributed to local venues and Council facilities in the coming days.

The at a glance format is perfect for planning the ultimate Jazz Festival experience to ensure you don’t miss out on your favourite artists.

Jazz Festival Coordinator with Council, Andrea Campbell, said it would be a weekend to remember. “We are delighted to unveil the full line up for this year’s programme, which is always bursting at the seams with quality performances.

“We have a whole host of alfresco concerts, indoor gigs, dance workshops and jazz parades to look forward to – with something to suit all ages and tastes.

“The Guinness Jazz Trail is the prefect guide to help people navigate their way around the many gigs to ensure everyone can easily find their favourites over the course of the weekend.

“We have bands coming from all over the UK, Europe and even as far away as Korea – so there is a fabulous array of talent to take in throughout the weekend.

“It’s fantastic to see so many local venues participating and bringing their own stamp to the programme this year.”

Demetri Soloman from Diageo said: “We are delighted to once again support the City of Derry Jazz Festival and the wonderful platform it provides for the local tourism and hospitality industry.

“It’s a unique festival with so many free events on offer, and the perfect blend of international and homegrown talent to attract music fans from far and wide.

“We’re looking forward to another fabulous weekend of quality live music and entertainment.”

The City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival is delivered by Derry City and Strabane District Council with support from Diageo and Ulster University.

You will find the Guinness Jazz Trail online at cityofderryjazzfestival.com along with all the highlights of the City of Derry Jazz Festival programme.

Or pick up a printed copy at participating venues, restaurants and hotels.
