Police in Derry are investigating an incident involving a stolen vehicle that was found abandoned after having crashed into a garden fence this morning, Wednesday, April 3.

The incident, which happened at Linsfort Drive in Creggan, was reported to police just after 7.30 am.

Police say they are keen to hear from anyone who believe they witnessed this vehicle – a yellow and black-coloured taxi – or captured footage of it being driven in the Creggan area, or further afield.

They also want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or from anyone who knows the whereabouts of the driver.

Sergeant Devlin said: “We have not received any reports of any injuries, at this time, however, this was an extremely reckless incident causing damage to a garden fence.

“Anyone who was up and about, or out in the area, could have been caught up in this and injured.

“To anyone who may have information which could help our investigation, we’d ask you call us on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 255 of 03/04/24.”
