Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson has revealed she has got engaged to Scottish DJ Denis Sulta.

The 30-year-old actress, a proud Derry girl, is best known for playing Erin in the hit Channel 4 series made by Hat Trick Productions, hasn’t yet posted an official ring picture or personal announcement on social media.

However, she shared the news with a picture from an interview given by Sulta to Metal magazine.

It comes ahead of his latest song release World of Flies – but he said his most exciting moment of 2023 took place in his personal life.

“What is your best memory looking back at the past year?” the DJ was asked. “The day I proposed to my fiancé Saoirse,” he replied.

Saoirse-Monica shared an image surrounded by hearts on her Instagram page.

The couple have been in a relationship since at least 2021, going public in September of that year.

Saoirse-Monica posted images of herself and the Glaswegian DJ to her Instagram around the same time, confirming their relationship.

Since then, they’ve regularly shared snaps taken together on their respective social media profiles.

They recently took a trip together to Rome and are often seen socialising with Saoirse-Monica’s co-star, Jamie Lee O’Donnell.

Denis Sulta – born Hector Barbour – is based in Glasgow and is a DJ and producer of house and dance music.
