Gang damage cars at hotel in Bridgend

A number of vehicles were damaged after a gang went on a targeted attack overnight along the border at Bridgend.

At least one car and a van were damaged by the gang armed with makeshift weapons.

The incidents happened in the carpark of the Frontier Hotel on the Donegal and Derry border.

A number of windows in the vehicles were smashed by the gang.

It is not known if anybody was injured during the incidents which happened at approximately 9pm.

Gardaisealed off the area as a full forensic investigation gets underway.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed they are investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage and the hijacking of a car (a grey Seat Altea, N. Irish registration, 2012 model) in Bridgend.

“No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time,” a spokesperson said.

“Investigating Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to these incidents or anyone with information to come forward to them.

“They are particularly appealing to those with video footage (including dash-cam) who were in the Bridgend area, between 8.15pm and 8.45pm, to make contact.

“Gardaí can be contacted at Buncrana Garda Station on (074) 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
