Magnificent Molly Guns was the first baby born In Northern Ireland at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry

A New Year has dawned in the Northern Ireland and as the seconds ticked into 2024 little bundles of joy started to arrive in hospital maternity wards.

First born on January 1, 2024, in Northern Ireland at Altnagelvin Hospital at 20 seconds past midnight was baby Molly Guns weighing 7lbs 7oz.

Baby Molly with Mum Kate Guns and Dad Joe Campbell from Greysteel, Derry.

Baby Girl Pollock born at Altnagelvin Hospital on New Year’s Day at 3.17 am weighing 7lbs 13oz to Mum Niamh, Dad Conan and proud big brother Donnchadh from Strabane.

Pictured is baby girl Millie-Kate born today weighing 6lbs 9oz at 2.40pm at Altnagelvin Hospital with mum Gemma Conwell and dad Steven Bonner from Strabane with Midwives Holly Pape and Joanne Russell.

We wish all the mums and dads the health and happiness to enjoy their little bundles of joy. And a special thank you to the medical staff for helping to bring the babies safely into their new world.
