Man dies after two-vehicle Donegal collision

A man aged in his 30s lost his life in a two-vehicle crash in Donegal last night.

The man was a passenger in one of the cars involved at near Manorcunningham.

Both drivers of the vehicles sustained non-life threatening injuries and are being treated at Letterkenny University Hospital.

A section of the Letterkenny-Lifford road remains closed this morning as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the fatal crash.

Traffic diversions are in place.

The incident took place on the N14 at Carrickballydooey at approximately 7pm on Monday.

The body of the young man has been removed to the mortuary of Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem will take place in due course.

Gardaí in Letterkenny Garda Station are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this collision to contact them.

Any road users who were on the N14, on Monday evening 18th December, 2023 between 6.30pm and 7pm and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with information in relation to this collision is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 90s was among those injured in a separate crash outside the West Donegal village of Gortahork.
