SDLP MLA Mark H Durkan has welcomed confirmation from Derry City and Strabane District Council that issues at O’Donovan Road junction will be addressed.

It follows complaints from residents in relation to ongoing construction work as part of the Culmore greenway.

Said the Foyle MLA: “O’Donovan Road residents will be relieved to hear that, following our representations, Council has asked the contractor on the Culmore greenway to revisit the junction at O’Donovan Road.

“There appears to have been a narrowing at the junction which is causing particular difficulty when vehicles are turning in from the Culmore Road while others are waiting to turn right on to it.

“I’ve received confirmation that these safety concerns will be addressed and hope to have full details of proposed improvements next week.”
