Sadness as body of missing Gareth Morrin recovered

There is sadness at the news that a body has been recovered from the River Foyle on Monday morning.

The body has now been confirmed to be that of Gareth Morrin.

The 35-year-old was reported missing last week.

Gareth was last been seen in Derry city centre on Thursday, August 17.

Police confirmed Mr Morrin’s identity.

A post mortem will now be carried out to determine the cause of death.

There are no further details at this stage.
