Gerry Bradley coming to The Alley Theatre

Gerard Bradley returns to the Alley this weekend with a host of talented guests for a night of soulful entertainment.

This Friday evening, January 13, Gerard Bradley presents ‘An Audience with Mark Bradley and Jim McDermott’ in the cabaret style Alley Theatre at 8pm

The trio, who are part of the North West’s biggest jazz band Jazz Gazette, are much loved regulars on the Alley stage and we can’t wait to welcome them back in 2023.

Performing all over Ireland, Jazz Gazette have entertained crowds at prestigious festivals such as the Sligo Jazz Festival and the local City of Derry Jazz Festival.

Hosting the wonderful evening of music, Gerard Bradley will play piano and entertain ticket holders. Music has played a big part in Gerard’s life from the young age of 11.

A member of, and occasional conductor for Strabane Concert Brass, he represented Ireland on five separate occasions in the European Brass Band Championship over the years.

In 1985 he formed the jazz quartet, Jazz Gazette – which moves from strength to strength over the years.

In 2014 he formed the Strabane Chamber Choir; a choir made up of members from Tyrone, Derry and Donegal.

The choir has had great success with competitive wins in Derry, Sligo and Navan Choral festivals.

They regrouped recently to perform, in Concert at the Alley Theatre Strabane, Dec 2021 after a forced hiatus of almost 2 years due to Covid restrictions.

Previous to his SCC tenure, Gerard was Musical Director of Letterkenny Music Society for 10 consecutive years 2005-2014.

He has served as occasional MD or rehearsal pianist for multiple musical productions in the Tyrone, Derry, Donegal area and is currently involved in the production of 3 more including a return to Letterkenny this Autumn.

Playing on trumpet and vocals, Mark Bradley, will serenade the crowd with jazzy hits as he returns in 2023.

Mark is currently Head of Music in Lumen Christi in Derry and has worked as a soloist in RTÉ Concert Orchestra. He’s worked with Ben E King at his Dublin concerts and even with Oasis for their ‘Be Here Now Tour’.

Saxophonist player Jim McDermott has been performing for over 40 years with the best in the business including the Dave Glover Show Band and Van Morrison, to name but a few.

This will be a fantastic night for jazz and music lovers alike as these musicians will be filling the Alley with their mixture of classic swing and jazz numbers.

Tickets are £6 available from the Alley Theatre website: www.alley-theatre.com
