Derry Christmas Lights Switch On Procession this Sunday

Santa will be the guest of honour on a magical procession through the streets of Derry this Sunday, November 27, 6pm-7pm switching on the Christmas lights as he passes by.

It will feature a number of festive characters and beautiful bespoke Christmas themed mobile installations.​

The procession route is as follows: (1) Bishop Street ~ (2) The Diamond ~ (3) Ferryquay Street ~ (4) Orchard Street ~ (5) Foyle Street ~ (6) Guildhall Square ~ (7) Custom House Street.

Meanwhile, Santa Claus will return to the streets of Strabane this Saturday, November 26, to turn on the town’s Christmas lights as part of a Magical Winter Wonderland Procession.

Father Christmas will lead the parade along with Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Sandra Duffy and will be followed by a colourful array of festive characters and beautiful bespoke Christmas themed mobile installations.

The event will take place from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

It will be one of the highlights of Council’s 2022 Christmas programme which includes the return of the renowned Walled City Christmas Markets and the Mayor’s Magical Christmas Experience in The Alley Theatre on Sunday, December 4.
