DESPITE the ongoing pandemic, maternity services have continued at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.

And the dedicatred maternity staff were on hand to help deliver babies over the festive period, giving up their time with their own families to ensure the expecting mums were safe and well looked after.

There were a number of Christmas Day and Boxing Day arrivals at the hospital.

Baby boy Loughrey was born at 7:04 am weighing 3315g, pictured with proud parents Karen and Mathew. Baby Loughrey was delivered by Amy McAleavey.

And also a special thank you to the maternity staff for all their hard work at this time.
