THE Alley Theatre is the place to be this Halloween with a range of events to suit all little ghouls and ghosts.
Starting on Friday 29th October, you can enter The Lost World at the Alley and make your way around Strabane town centre with an interactive trail full of spooky characters, live music, animation, roarsome dinosaurs, and lots more.
If you fancy something a bit calmer there will be Halloween Mindfulness workshops held on the 29th and 30th October.
Suitable for children aged 7-14, Donna Sinclair will take participants through fun activities to let children practice mindfulness, identifying emotions and learning tools to manage anxiety and be happy.
Activities will include Halloween stone art, mindful breathing, mindful Halloween eating and spooky calm down jar, plus there will be a free Halloween pumpkin fidget for every attendee.
Spooky tales will also be told throughout both days from 1pm to 5pm in the Alley’s popular storytelling and arts and crafts.
And, back by popular demand are the Trick or Treat Ghostly Tours, in partnership with Strabane BID.
Participants can start at the Alley Theatre as the witches take you around the frightfully good businesses around Strabane, collecting treats as you go!
DJ Oliver will be pumping out the Spooky tunes in the Alley courtyard from 1pm – 5pm on the 29th and 30th October while renowned artist Barry McGowan will turn you into a scary Halloween character with caricature drawings on the same dates.
On Saturday 30th October, teens can enjoy a spooky Halloween film from 5.30pm, and if they come in fancy dress there’s a chance to win a special prize!
On Halloween Day, Sunday 31st October, young audiences can enjoy live theatre with two shows on offer: Teddy’s Halloween Adventure at 2pm and The Canterville Ghost at 3.30pm.
In Teddy’s Halloween Adventure, Sammy Ragdoll wants to take her best friend, Eddy The Teddy, to a Halloween party but he’s feeling a bit frightened.
The show is designed for very young children aged 3 to 6 years old, so Eddy will be the only one that’s frightened.
The show uses many elements of theatre, mime, puppetry, and songs to join in with.
It’s a perfect introduction to live entertainment for children who’ve never been to a show before, and a welcome return to Eddy The Teddy’s young fans.
The Canterville Ghost is based on Oscar Wilde’s short story for children about a family from America who move into a haunted house in England.
They aren’t afraid at all, and indeed, play tricks on the ghost.
Their daughter, Virginia, takes pity on the frustrated ghost, and becomes his friend.
The show is aimed at children between five and ten.
