Funeral today for Emmette Dillon

REQUIEM Mass is being held this morning in Derry for Emmette Dillon.

Emmette was last seen leaving his flat in Crawford Square on Friday, September 3.

On Wednesday, Foyle Search and Rescue, which had been conducted extensive land and sea searches for Emmette, sadly announced that it had recovered his remains from the River Foyle.

A Family Notice reads: “22nd September 2021, beloved son of the late Annemarie, step-son of Liam, loving brother of Owen, Ryan (twin) and Jordan, cherished grandson of Anna and the late Dessie Dillon and a much loved uncle.

“Deeply regretted by his aunts, uncles, cousins and all the extended family circle.

“Funeral from his brother’s home, 8 Moyola Walk, Shantallow, on Saturday at 10.20 am for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass in St Eugene’s Cathedral.

“Interment afterwards in the City cemetery.

“The mass can be viewed live via the church webcam.

“Family flowers only please.

“Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Foyle Search & Research, 20 Victoria Road, Derry, BT47 2AB.

“Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.’

RIP Emmette.
