THE Western Trust has thanked the family of a woman who sadly passed away last year by raising over £2,500 for Altnagelvin’s maternity department.

The Trust says: “Our Maternity Department, Altnagelvin Hospital has received a generous donation of £2,544.30 from Aidan and Lorcan McBride from Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone.

“The donation was made in memory of Lorcan’s mummy and Aidan’s wife, Joanne McBride. Joanne sadly passed away in November 2020.

“During this time, Aidan and his family requested donations to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) in lieu of flowers.

“Pictured accepting the kind donation on behalf of NNICU is Maternity/NNICU Staff Angela Hughes; Brenda McClafferty; Leona Colton; Sharon Woods; Leanne Smith and Deirdre Gill .

“We would also like to thank Aghyaran St Davogs Senior Ladies for their generous donation of £1775.00 to NNICU.

“The ladies team completed 1,000 miles in March and donated part of the funds raised to NNICU in memory of Joanne.

“Pictured accepting the cheque from one of the ladies footballers in Sr Christine Brown from NNICU.

“#ThankYou.”
