THE Derry based charity Children in Crossfire has had its coffers boosted by a local school.

Writing on its Facebook page, the charity says: “Let’s hear it for the pupils and teachers at Lisneal College, who raised an amazing £2,276.32 for us in our Jog 50 Miles in a Month challenge.

“Our Executive Director Richard Moore and Fundraising Co-ordinator Shauna O’Neill visited the school to say thanks.

“Richard and Shauna are pictured here with the school’s Principal, Michael Allen; Aisling O’Kane, the teacher who co-ordinated the challenge; and some of the young people who took part.”

Writing on its Facebook page, Lisneal College says: “We were delighted to welcome Children in Crossfire into our school to receive a substantial amount of money raised by our pupils, parents and staff; who successfully JOGGED 50 MILES IN MARCH.

“Well done to everyone who participated in the challenged.

“A special mention must go to Miss O’Kane for her wonderful work in promoting the challenge and encouraging whole school participation. #WeAreLisneal #LikeNoOther .”
