Sinn Fein Foyle MLA Martina Anderson

SINN Féin’s Martina Anderson has written to Donegal County Council highlighting opposition to a controversial plan to build an asphalt plant close to the Derry/Donegal border.

Said the Foyle MLA: “There is huge concern in both Derry and Donegal about plans to develop an asphalt plant in Burnfoot and the implications it could have on the local environment and community.

“Derry City and Strabane District Council have already made its opposition to the plan clear in writing to Donegal County Council.

“I have also now written to Donegal County Council opposing the plan and highlighting the concerns and opposition of Derry residents living close to the border who could be impacted if this was to go ahead.

“I would urge the planners at Donegal County Council to listen to the views of the local residents in both Donegal and Derry and deny this application to build this controversial plant.”
