Sinn Fein Education spokesperson Karen Mullan

SINN Féin’s Karen Mullan has challenged the Economy Minister Diane Dodds on the commitment to deliver on the expansion of Magee campus.

Said the Foyle: “The expansion of the Ulster University at Magee is a priority and a key part of the regeneration of the city and its economy.

“Significant progress has been made recently towards the expansion with the delivery of the medical school and huge investments as a result of the City Deal.

“This is a commitment in the New Decade, New Approach agreement.

“I challenged the Economy Minister in the Assembly, who has been less than enthusiastic about the project and reminded her of that commitment.

“We are committed to the expansion and to seeing 10,000 students at Magee.

“And we will continue to work to deliver it and continue the progress that has already begun.”
