‘£753k rates support grant will help DCSDC’

written by cassoscoop April 5, 2021

Sinn Fein councillor Sandra Duffy

SINN Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed the news that the Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has confirmed she has allocated a further £753,000 in Rates Support Grant.

The Sinn Féin council group leader said: “This has been an unprecedented year both globally and locally as a result of Covid and that has had an effect on the finances of the Council .

“The Rate Support Grant of £753,000 from the Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey will go some way to ease those pressures on the Council.

“This crucial assistance, I believe will help us to maintain and enhance services, proceed with capital building projects, protect jobs and meet our obligations to staff without placing undue financial pressure on our local citizens.

“So, I commend Minister Hargey for providing this funding.”
