THE SDLP’s Mark H Durkan has welcomed the announcement of a long-awaited play provision for Eglinton.

Said the Foyle MLA: “This is great news for the Eglinton community. I am delighted that funding has finally been secured for the upgrade of Eglinton Play Park.

“The children of Eglinton will have the state-of-the-art and safe facility that we have campaigned for for a long time.

“The park will include a wheelchair accessible multi-unit, sensory panels and a selection of facilities for children of all ages.

“I am hopeful that work will begin soon.

“I want to add my thanks to Derry City and Strabane District Council, DAERA and the Department for Communities for their vital support and a big thanks to the local community for their support, input and patience.”
