THE Department of Health has announced a further 144 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of six cases on figures given for Saturday.
The two further deaths were recorded outside the current reporting period from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 2,077.
None of these latest deaths has been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 1,198 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further nine positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a slight rise of two on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 82 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,256 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 133 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 90 per cent.
There are currently 220 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 35 patients currently in intensive care and 25 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 18 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 622 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
