Altnagelvin staff raise funds for Air Ambulance

STAFF from Altnagelvin Hospital joined efforts in fundraising for Air ambulance Northern Ireland.

On 13 November, five socially distanced Coffee Mornings and raffles sponsored by staff, were held simultaneously in various department including Theatres; ICU; DCU; DESU and Maternity.

The Western Trus says: “The event, organised by Dr Nauman Iftikhar, was a great success and over £2000 was raised on the day.

“Sincere thanks to all staff who supported the Coffee Morning, which not only raised much needed funds but also raised the morale of staff.

“The presentation was made to Ian Crowe, Air Ambulance NI Trustee by Dr Iftikhar and representatives from the departments who hosted the Coffee Mornings.

“This included Sister Carol Reid, Theatres/ICU; Sister Amanda Mitchell, Day Case Unit; S/N Maria Robertson, DESU; Dr Manav Bhavsar, Consultant Anaesthetist; Dr Patrick Stewart, Clinical Lead, Anaesthetics and Staff Midwife Rebecca Rainey, Maternity.”
