Coronavirus: No more deaths in North from COVID-19 but 149 positive cases

A FURTHER 149 new cases of Corornavirus have been confirmed in the North of Ireland, the Department of Health has announced.

It brings to 8,780 the total number of cases her since testing began after the outbreak in March.

There have been no more deaths with the toll at 573 which are mostly in hospitals.

There are 21 patients with COVID-19 in hospitals in the North of Ireland, with four in intensive care.

There are 25 active care home outbreaks, while 190 cases have been closed.

The death toll in the Derry City and Strabane District Council remains at 29 from Coronavirus.

To date, 21,420 people within the council boundary have been tested.

A total of 375 people have tested positive, with 70 of those in the last seven days.
