Bishop Donal McKeown announces Derry clerical changes

Bishop of Derry Most Rev Donal McKeown

THE retirement of two Derry priests has been announced by Bishop Donal McKeown in his annual clerical changes.

The retirements of Fr Art O’Reilly, curate at Banagher, and Fr Patrick McGoldrick, curate at Moville, were among six changes announced by Bishop McKeown at the weekend.

Other moves include:

Rev Edward Gallagher, parish priest at Greencastle to be, in addition, parish priest at Badoney Lower.

Rev Ciaran Hegarty, on loan from the Diocese of Down and Connor, currently curate at Urney and Castlefin to become administrator at Urney and Castlefin.

Rev Daniel McFaul, curate at Creggan, to be, in addition, chaplain to the Altnagelvin group of hospitals.

Rev John P Forbes, administrator at Badoney Lower, to be priest-in-residence Badoney Lower.

All of the changes taken effect from this Friday, September 11.
