Coronavirus: 49 new cases from COVID-19 in North but no further deaths

THE Department of Health has confirmed that there have been 49 new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the North of Ireland in the past 24 hours.

It brings to 7,294 the total number of positive cases.

There are currently 18 patients in hospitals here with the deadly virus, with three in intensive care.

It brings to 461 the number of people who have tested positive for the virus over the past seven days, while the death toll remains at 560.

There have been 12 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past seven days, with its total now at 281.

Since the pandemic erupted in March, 29 people within the council boundary have lost their lives to Coronavirus.
