Willie and Garry hard at work along The Quay this morning

IF you have ever wondered how the flower baskets across Derry are kept so beautiful and vibrant, well here is the answer.

Council workers Willie and Garry are hard at it this morning feeding the stunning River of Flowers on The Quay.

A total of 150 boxes on this single stretch alone!

Derry City and Strabane District Council say on its Facebook page: “This team works so hard throughout the year to make our city totally blooming gorgeous!

“Thank you guys.”

The work of council staff in maintaining the flower baskets and pots across the city is very much appreciated by all.

City Centre Initiative replied to the council’s Facebook post: “It’s amazing that council has managed to deliver and maintain such amazing floral displays throughout the city in these challenging times.

“Well done to all involved in keeping our city centre clean, safe and vibrant.”
