DERRY City and Strabane District Council’s has said that its pool programme will re-start on the week beginning Monday, August 31.

The bookable activities available include lane swimming, household swims and club/group usage (subject to booking application, terms and conditions apply).

This will include swimming pools at Foyle Arena, Riversdale Leisure Centre and Templemore Sports Complex.

There will be some changes in place including pre booking your slot, coming ‘beach ready’ (costumes to be worn under clothing) to the facility, there will be designated locations on pool deck to store your clothing.

There will be local arrangements in place at each facility, with full access to changing rooms and we will operate ‘quick change zone’ at the end of your session.

There will be limited capacity and all activities must be booked in advance. Swim sessions will last for 60 minutes.

Paid members will be able book 7 days in advance from Monday, August 24 and casual users 1 day in advance.

Swim sessions can be booked through www.derrystrabane.com/leisure

There will be no spectator facilities at any of our centres.

Other Leisure Centres – Tier two leisure centre facilities at Brooke Park, City Baths, Melvin and Bishop’s Field will remain closed as effective social distancing is problematic at these sites.

They will remain closed under regular review.
