Alley Theatre Murder Mystery Night goes virtual

THE Alley Theatre’s annual Murder Mystery Evening is back this year virtually on Saturday 22nd August at 8pm.

Fun for the whole family, the ‘Western Whodunnit’ mystery is available to take part in via a private Facebook group page.

After sell-out performances in the Alley Theatre with previous Murder Mystery Nights such as ‘The Phantom of the Opera Strikes Again’ and ‘The Night of the Fallen Flapper’, the Bard Theatre Group are back with a new mystery – ‘Calamity Rides Again’.

If you fancy yourself as the next Sherlock Holmes or Miss Marple, help deputy Calamity Jane find the clues and track down the murderer after a death in Red Creek.

Speaking about the new twist to the tale, Andrew Tinney from Bard Theatre commented: “We at Bard Theatre are delighted to present our first ever online performance.

“When the world shut down, we were truly saddened when our upcoming performances had to be cancelled.

“Not to be kept down for long, we quickly went about developing a lockdown version of our new Murder Mystery, ‘Calamity Rides Again’.

“Recording and working on this over lockdown was both challenging and rewarding, giving us focus during uncertain times.

“Some original ideas had to be shelved, and new ways of relaying clues and information had to be explored.

“It also allowed us all the chance to work together once again, even with some of our members not even in the same country currently!”

He added: “What was produced is certainly different, but nurtured with all the care we would bestow on any other show.

“We hope audiences enjoy our ‘lockdown special’, as it were, and we look forward to bringing them a live performance soon!”

If you love a good mystery and a good western, then this is for you.

Suitable for all the family, have fun in your own home and see who guesses right – you could even have a western themed party to go along.

The mystery lasts around 30 minutes and the cost is £5 to join.

To book visit the Alley Theatre website, www.alley-theatre.com

Once you book you will be sent a link to join the private Facebook page.
