Derry YouTube star Adam B buys a car for family who lost loving father and husband

Bronagh Burke with her twins and Adam B with their new car

A DERRY mum has told of her shock after YouTube star Adam B arrived at their home with a new family car and presents for her twins.

Bronagh Burke, 29, lost her husband Thomas suddenly in April leaving her children, twins Adam and Aoife without a daddy.

Describing the last few months as “the darkest of days” Bronagh was given a glimmer of hope when Derry YouTube sensation Adam B surprised the Burke family with a new car and gifts.

Earlier this month, a touching birthday card plea to help make the twins’ birthday extra special went viral with the family having now received over 2,000 cards for Adam and Aoife’s special day which falls on Monday, June 29.

The shocked mum-of-two says she’s still not able to take in what has happened.

“I’m still sitting staring at the car out the window thinking, is it actually mine? I’ve just been blown away by his generosity,” says Bronagh.

“The twins absolutely love watching Adam B on YouTube as well, we can’t believe what has happened.

“We were already blown away by the card appeal, we have over 2000 now already and with Father’s Day as well this weekend we know it’s going to be a horrendous day but this has has just given us a glimmer of light.

“Adam is just an incredible, incredible young fella. For a gentleman like himself, at 20-years of age, to hand someone going through their most darkest times, a car, it’s just absolutely incredible.”

Last week YouTube star Adam B, real name Adam Beales, who has more than 2.7 million subscribers on his channel issued an appeal on social media asking people to get in touch with suggestions of folk who would be deserving of a ‘random act of kindness’.

After Bronagh’s friends and family and even kind strangers nominated the Burke family, Adam got in touch to say he wanted to deliver some gifts to Adam and Aoife for their Birthday’.

“Last Saturday Adam reached out to me and said he was going to come and surprise us. He said he had saw the Birthday card appeal go viral and had heard about our story and he said he was touched by it.

“He just asked me what type of toys the kids would like and about their birthday,” Bronagh explained.

“Adam’s team then messaged me to say they would call on Saturday and asked me not to tell the twins as they wanted to captured the surprise on camera.

“So I didn’t tell them and we just stayed around the house all day and Adam arrive at around 6pm.

“He’s been going around in an ice-cream van and he turned up in it with other members of this family and delivered the presents to Adam and Aoife.

“My mammy’s living room is literally like Christmas morning now, the toys he arrived with it’s incredible.”

‘Blown away’ by the 20-year-old’s incredible gesture, Bronagh had no idea that Adam had another surprise for the family, in the shape of a new family car.

“We were so touched by the toys for the twins I was so overwhelmed, completely blown away and then he arrived with the car.

“There’s a really incredible way that he did the whole thing with the car but that will all be revealed in Adam’s video when he releases it, it was just amazing.”

Bronagh also revealed that the family had to give up their own car just two weeks ago following Thomas’ death, but says that Adam didn’t even know that had happened and was shocked when she told him on Saturday.

“There are certain things I obviously keep private and I do capture a lot of moments on my Instagram and it’s helping me but what Adam never, ever knew as only a very small number of people did know, was that I had to give back my family car which me and Burkey had two weeks ago.

“Myself and Thomas had two cars, we had our family car and we had our work car but our work car is a wee 2008 Corsa banger on it’s last legs, it will literally only go from A to B.

“So it was absolutely horrendous to have to hand back our family car two weeks ago, which is why what Adam did, meant so much more.

YouTube star Adam Beales captured the moment he handed the keys over to mum Edelle, dad Paul and younger brother Callum

“I told him that yesterday and he was blown away, he never knew, it was just so special.

“I said as well with us going through our darkest times at the moment, this just gives us a wee bit of light and we are so grateful.”

Last month Adam B went viral after surprising his parents with a new home in Derry.

More than a year in the planning Adam, managed to keep it a secret from his mum and dad, Edelle and Paul, and brother Callum.

And he captured the heartwarming moment on camera.
