STRABANE BID Chairman and Managing Director of O’Neills Sportswear, Kieran Kennedy, has welcomed the announcement by the Economy Minister that all non-essential goods retailers in Northern Ireland can reopen from this Friday, June 12.

“The announcement by the NI Executive to accelerate the re-opening of local shops and non-essential retailers is great news for Strabane, not only in terms of getting local businesses back to work but it also signals the re-opening of the town.

“Local shops and small retailers are the heartbeat of Strabane and today’s announcement gives them the opportunity to safely re-open which is great to see.

“It is my hope that businesses are furnished with essential clear guidance to allow them to re-open on Friday.

“Communication plays a key role here and it’s important that business owners, their staff and customers know the right measures have been taken to provide a safe and enjoyable shopping experience.”

As a BID board, we are working closely with businesses in Strabane and know they are excited to bring our bustling town back to life.

This announcement brings us a step closer to achieving this.
