THE Department of Health has reported that there has been one more COVID-19 related death in the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.

That brings its total to 535.

The department’s daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths and where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.

The latest figures on the department’s dashboard show 33 new confirmed positive cases of the virus, bringing that total to 4,773.

There have been 27 confirmed deaths in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area since the pandemic started with over 160 confirmed cases from Coronavirus within the council boundary.

Last week Nisra said that more than half all deaths here to Coronavirus had taken place in residential care homes.

Tomorrow, Nisra will give details on all deaths up to Friday, May 29, in hospitals, care homes, hospices and residential homes.
