Coronavirus: One more person in North dies of COVID-19 as toll hits 524

ONE further COVID-19-related death has been recorded in the North of Ireland by the Department of Health.

That brings its total, mostly comprising of hospital deaths, to 524.

On Friday, the NI Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra), reported there had been 716 deaths by Friday, May 22, including in the care and hospice sectors.

The Nisra figures cover all fatalities where Coronavirus has been recorded on the death certificate.

There have been 27 deaths from COVID-19 in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area with over 160 positive cases from Coronavirus within the council boundary.
