SDLP leader and Foyle MP Colum Eastwood
The schoolboy was struck by a van on Friday evening.
He was first taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment but was subsequently transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he tragically died on Sunday evening from his injuries.
Said the Foyle MP: “It is heart breaking that a young life with so much potential and many happy years ahead of him has been taken so soon.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this devastating time.”
