SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney has condemned an incident in the Clon Dara area of Derry this afternoon, where a group of people attacked two women and a man.

The Ballyarnett Councillor said: “I strongly condemn this attack which could have caused serious injury.

“This is a large residential area with lots of young families and children could have witnessed this attack.

“This is not reflective of the Derry and the people who live here.

“I send my sympathies with those who were involved and wish them a speedy recovery.

“Anyone with any information should come forward to the PSNI or Crimestoppers urgently.”
