Living with and beyond head and neck cancers event

THE Western Trust recently hosted a living with and beyond head and neck cancer event at St Columb’s Park House in Derry for people who have been diagnosed with a head and neck cancer.

The event was the first offered in this area that provided patients and their family members with the opportunity to gain expert advice from healthcare professionals and information on local cancer support services.

There was an opportunity for the attendee’s to ask questions.

Key speakers at the event included; Tracy Mears Clinical Nurse Specialist, Stephanie Farrell Team Lead Radiographer, David Curtin Speech and Language Therapist along with a patient experience, Dr Maria Bradley Specialist Clinical Psychologist, Martha Magee Macmillan Information and Support Service, Natasha Henry Oncology Physiotherapist, Sharon Bingham PHD Researcher Ulster University.

There were also information stands provided by the local cancer charities to include representation from the Trust’s Macmillan Information and Support service, Macmillan Welfare Team and the Health & Well being campus.
