DERRY City and Strabane District Council are reminding local community groups that they have until this Friday February 7th to apply for grant aid to support their community programmes.

Applications for the Community Grant Aid Programmes for 2020/21 include the Community Support Fund, the Community Centre Venue Fund, Good Relations Funding and the Policing and Community Safety Partnership Small Project Support Programme.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Michaela Boyle, urged local groups to submit their applications before the deadline.

“The latest Community Grant Aid programmes offer local groups the funding to make a real difference to people’s lives on the ground through their activities and projects,” she said.

“During my period as Mayor I have witnessed at first hand the outstanding work that our local groups do in the community to bring people together and enhance their quality of life.

“I am delighted that a number of funding streams are available to continue that work but it is imperative that applications are submitted before this week’s deadline to secure the financial support for events and initiatives.”

All the programmes are operated on a competitive basis and applications are determined on merit.

The grants are open to any not for profit, constituted groups to deliver a wide range of activities and projects that benefit the City and District.

The following funds are open: The Community Centre Venue Fund 2020/23, the Community Support Fund 2020/21, Good Relations Fund 2020/21 and the PCSP Small Project Support Fund 2020/21.
