THE inaugural LINEUP tech event taking place in Derry has announced key speakers, sponsors and themes for its March 5 event.

Coming after the news that Allstate NI were partnering with event facilitators Startacus as strategic sponsors of Lineup 2020, it has been confirmed that the event’s agenda will focus on women in tech, tech inclusion, the future of work, and the future of education.

Taking place during Derry and Strabane Council’s Enterprise Week, the one-day event will also see the Council joined as Major Sponsors by the North West Regional College, Alchemy Technology Services and Concentrix who will be showcasing, Solv™, an innovative tech platform that creates an enhanced customer support ecosystem with crowdsourced support.

A key part of the Lineup 2020 event will be an all Ireland women-in-tech startup pitch competition, ‘The 20’, with 10-12 female founding teams pitching on stage to become the acclaimed ‘The 20’ champion for 2020, with a prize package that will include post-event support from 20 leading business and startup advocates who will be spending time to see how they can help that startup grow and scale over the coming months.

Alastair Cameron, co-founder of Startacus said: “We look forward to receiving applications from throughout the island of Ireland, and we also encourage applications from early stage female founding teams in the North West.

“We are really keen to not only give a platform to women in tech, but to make sure that the winning startup is given access to a diary of connections that can help that startup fulfil its potential.

Building a strong network is invaluable to any startup’s success, so we feel that this prize could open unimaginable doors. We also can’t wait to announce who those 20 advocates and mentors will be.”

Applications for ‘The 20’ will open at the start of February so do keep an eye on Startacus via Twitter and Facebook to find out more about how suitable startups can apply. Interested startups can also reach out to Alastair directly – [email protected]

Key speakers so far confirmed for the 5th March conference and evening social include Dave Graham, Emerging Technology Messaging – Dell Technologies, Naomi Timperly, Head of Growth Programmes at rradar, published author, speaker and panellist and one of the top 25 in Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in UK IT 2019, Paula Kennedy Garcia, Vice President at Concentrix, and Mary McKenna, leading technology entrepreneur & angel investor.
